Please Go Out and Vote Today!

Tuesday, November 4th, 2014

November 4.  Election Day in America. Have you gone to the polls yet to cast your vote?  Today is the day that our voices are heard and we all have the same say.  Young or old, rich or poor, this is the time we are all equal.  Regardless of which political party you support, and in spite of the often negative rhetoric that comes with campaigns, at the end of the day, we want you to go out and vote.

As a non-partisan organization, VPLC works with the people you elect to protect the most vulnerable in the commonwealth, regardless of their political affiliation.  At the end of the day, we are proud of the fact that we never lose sight of the people we advocate on behalf of — low-income Virginians.

Here are some resources to help you out today, courtesy of the Brennan Center for Justice:

  • Find your polling place here.
  • Are you a student? Check out our state-by-state Student Voter Guide (which has useful information for non-students, too).
  • Have a problem or question? Contact Election Protection at 1-866-OUR-VOTE or use #ElectProtect on Twitter.
  • You can also download their mobile app to confirm your registration status, look up your polling place, and review voting rules for your state.

So, as you head out to the polls today, please know that your vote matters.  Encourage community and family members to go out as well!
