Learn your rights. Share your ideas.

We don’t need to tell you: Virginia is in the middle of a housing crisis. Lawmakers, courts, and funders need to do something. But what?

VPLC fights for better laws, policies, and funding to improve access to safe and affordable housing. We need to hear from you. Join us to share your experience and your ideas for change. At these sessions, attorneys will also share information about tenants’ legal rights and how to protect them.

A Tradition Continues: ASC 2026 Registration Opens

Since its earliest days, VPLC has believed that a stronger legal aid community leads to greater access to justice. That belief took shape in November 1979, when VPLC hosted the first Annual Statewide Legal Aid Conference (ASC) in Skyland, Virginia, just fifteen months after the organization was founded.

Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals rules for children in foster care reform case; VPLC joined amicus brief
