VPLC and Community Partners Bring Tenant Town Halls Across Virginia

Published

Virginia renters are facing rising housing costs, eviction concerns, maintenance issues, and major changes in housing laws. This spring and summer alongside several community partners across the state, VPLC is hosting a series of Tenant Town Halls to help renters learn about new tenant protections, ask questions, and share their experiences.

These events are designed to be welcoming, community-centered conversations. Participants will hear plain-language explanations of recent housing law changes and have the opportunity to discuss what is — and is not — working for tenants in their communities.

We hope tenants, advocates, service providers, and community members will join us.

What to Expect

Each town hall will include:

  • An overview of recent changes to Virginia housing laws
  • Information about tenant rights and protections
  • Open discussion and community feedback
  • Opportunities to ask questions and share experiences

What we hear from tenants will help inform future advocacy and policy work across Virginia.
