Arlington, Virginia

Zukhra’s marriage was abusive. A mother of two, Zukhra woke up one day and decided she’d had enough of the abuse. She contacted legal aid who helped her get a divorce and custody of her children. Then Zukhra restarted her life as a single mother and has embraced the new beginning with energy and a positive outlook. She’s completing coursework for her GED and would like to attend law school. She currently works to support herself and her children and is a very talented artist. She has sold her drawings and is hopeful she’ll be able to continue to sell more to supplement her income.
